Dennis Pennington,
Mr. Pennington is an accomplished attorney whose practice in the State of Louisiana has spanned many years. He is authorized to practice before all Louisiana State Courts, as well as all Louisiana Courts of Appeal. He is admitted to practice in the Eastern, Middle and Western United States District Courts, and is also admitted before the United States Courts of Appeal for the 5th and 11th circuits. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court since 1987.
Mr. Pennington concentrates his practice in multiple areas, including plaintiff’s injury and death claims, where he has, for many years, successfully fought for the rights and dignity of injury victims. Cases handled include serious auto wrecks, truck and tractor wrecks, products defects cases, serious slip and fall injury claims, nursing home negligence and injuries, aircraft accident litigation (including the first case involving “wind shear” being identified as causation), and highway defect cases. Mr. Pennington also accepts select workers’ compensation claims.
Additionally, Mr. Pennington has been active in the practice of commercial and residential real estate closings. He is a long time agent of First American Title Insurance Company, and has defended other title insurance companies against claims which ultimately went to court.
Mr. Pennington is also very active in the commercial transaction practice, representing business owners in commercial common stock sales and asset sales of companies buying and selling their businesses.
Mr. Pennington is the managing partner of Pennington & Martinez law firm, and has been incorporated since 1991. Prior to that date, he was the managing partner of Spedale, Sanders & Pennington, which was an old line firm of attorneys practicing in Louisiana since 1972.
Mr. Pennington received his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1971, and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association that same year. He is currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American and Louisiana Associations for Justice, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Real Estate Lawyers Group. He was graduated from Roanoke College with a BA degree in 1968. Originally from New Jersey, he graduated from Hackensack High School in 1964.
